I received this from Dimitrije Tadic out of the Creative Europe Desk Serbia. Sharing the wonderful work we all do is a vital part of online networking. I hope you find this informative. If you have a project report you'd like to share with the AEN community please email me in a similar fashion to this. As community manager of Audiences Europe Network I  am happy to receive final project reports to share with the network. - Caron

"Audience Development in Serbia" - PDF

It came prefaced as follows...

The publication presents initiatives in Serbia about the development of audience, a very important and current guideline of the European cultural politics and the Creative Europe Programme. It maps out the projects in Serbia developing different audience groups in accordance with interests, lifestyles, gender, occupation, age or taste. It should be said that the presented projects were grouped under diverse categories, exactly with the goal of showing the diversity of audience groups, to show the possibility of a creative and open approach to audience development, i.e. to avoid the somewhat stereotypical and essentially limiting defining of target groups (e.g. the young, persons with disabilities, ethnic and other minorities).

Moreover, experiences and opinions of participants and the audience of the mapped projects, through answers to the questions about concepts and successfulness of realization of these projects, are presented, which is possibly where the greatest contribution of this publication is.

Call closes 21st of August 2015

On November 17th 2015, the Flemish Department of Culture and Vitamine C  are organising their annual meeting in cultural education in Ghent. In this context they are currently seeking interesting speakers and innovative practical examples from abroad. The theme of the meeting is cultural education and its relationship with multilingualism.

Do you know of an organisation or person who might be interested? Forward your ideas and suggestions to Vitamine C's Eefje Raets - eefje@bruismee.be

About the Event - who will be attending? This annual cultural sector meeting centres around the encounter between policy and practice in cultural education in Flanders. The sector’s conference welcomes any professional or volunteer who is involved (closely or more superficially) in the cultural educational activities of a youth or cultural institution. The culture education employees from the directors and executives of socio-cultural organisations, art houses, heritage institutions, cultural and community centres, libraries, etc. are very welcome.

The program aims to meet the expectations and interests of both beginners and advanced cultural education workers.

Theme - 'cultural education in relation to (multi-) lingualism’
The 2015 theme was chosen by the practitioners in the field (organisations and representatives) and by the policy makers. The event formally invites participants to engage in a dialogue with relevant partners from other domains (education, work, welfare, etc.).  It includes sub-themes such as ‘low literacy’, ‘the language of art’,  ‘instruction and reflection language', 'conscious or subconscious language development,' 'the competencies of creative practitioners in a multilingual context', ‘inclusive working with multilingual audience/participants’, etc. Obviously, this topic can be looked at from different angles and numerous successful projects will be shared and experienced professionals presenting.

They are accepting proposals until the 21st of August. Expert speakers will receive a fee for their contribution as well as a reimbursement of their travel and hotel costs.

Should you have suggestions, please get in touch with Eefje Raets of Vitamine C via eefje@bruismee.be

Thank you in advance. Please let us know here at the Audiences Europe Network if you are submitting a case study, attending as a delegate or answering the call attending as a speaker as a result of reading our post.
