On November 17th 2015, the Flemish Department of Culture and Vitamine C are organising their annual meeting in cultural education in Ghent. In this context they are currently seeking interesting speakers and innovative practical examples from abroad. The theme of the meeting is cultural education and its relationship with multilingualism.

About the Event - who will be attending? This annual cultural sector meeting centres around the encounter between policy and practice in cultural education in Flanders. The sector’s conference welcomes any professional or volunteer who is involved (closely or more superficially) in the cultural educational activities of a youth or cultural institution. The culture education employees from the directors and executives of socio-cultural organisations, art houses, heritage institutions, cultural and community centres, libraries, etc. are very welcome.
The program aims to meet the expectations and interests of both beginners and advanced cultural education workers.
Theme - 'cultural education in relation to (multi-) lingualism’
The 2015 theme was chosen by the practitioners in the field (organisations and representatives) and by the policy makers. The event formally invites participants to engage in a dialogue with relevant partners from other domains (education, work, welfare, etc.). It includes sub-themes such as ‘low literacy’, ‘the language of art’, ‘instruction and reflection language', 'conscious or subconscious language development,' 'the competencies of creative practitioners in a multilingual context', ‘inclusive working with multilingual audience/participants’, etc. Obviously, this topic can be looked at from different angles and numerous successful projects will be shared and experienced professionals presenting.
They are accepting proposals until the 21st of August. Expert speakers will receive a fee for their contribution as well as a reimbursement of their travel and hotel costs.
